About Us
Sustain Mid Maine is a grassroots initiative created to conserve our resources, sustain a healthy environment, and promote economic prosperity for the Mid-Maine region. The group includes teams focused on issues including:
1. Energy
2. Transportation
3. Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Recylce
4. Education
5. Local Foods
The group was an outcome of The Community Catalyst for Energy Conservation and Sustainability, a three-day workshop held in January 2009 that engaged area citizens in addressing their energy conservation and sustainability goals. Mike Kelly from Advanced Management Catalysts, Inc. facilitated the session. Participants included more than fifty people who represented a broad diversity of opinions and experiences.
